How to capture the right colour scheme
“I always encourage my clients to be playful with colour."
To choose your primary colour, first ask yourself what mood or feelings you want to create for that room. We all know there's a science behind colour psychology used by the experts to increase our alertness, to calm our nerves or stimulate our creativity - so why not use that same science to create a special room at home?
To make a small room seem larger, use light and airy colours.
If a room lacks emotion, make it more intimate with bold and dark colours. If a room lacks natural light use warm colour keys with a yellow base to add visual warmth and cheerfulness.
For something really extraordinary, use colours as the window into your personality - be as creative as you like. A room can be your canvas, so make it a true reflection of yourself!
Try creating a theme around something you'd like to showcase like a painting, a handcrafted rug, antique or collectible. The colour, shape, style and proportion in furnishings plus the availability of extensive custom upholstery, leathers, wood stains, all paired up with just the right accessories can make the difference between having a "nice" room and a "spectacular" room.
The end result should be to make your home as individual as you are so that when you walk into that special room, you and all those who visit you will truly feel at home!
